Mission

Simple and Rapid Diagnostic Tests for Aquatic Diseases
Aquaculture is rising to meet the nutritional needs of a burgeoning world population. Disease costs the industry billions in USD each year and challenges its ability to successfully meet this need.

To help address this problem, Gaskiya Diagnostics offers low-cost, paper-based and easy-to-use diagnostic tests for disease detection. The colorimetric results are:
  • Rapid
  • Simple to interpret
  • Require no expertise or equipment

By offering a simple-to-use technology, we put the power of diagnosis directly into the hands of farmers for:
  • Shrimp
  • Finfish
  • Mollusks
  • Crustaceans
  • Algae

Faster diagnosis leads to faster treatments, fewer losses and more food for the world.

Technology

Picture
Gaskiya’s platform technology uses bioengineered capture proteins to bind target analytes with a high degree of sensitivity and specificity. An array of sample types can be tested and small to large sample volumes accommodated. The bio-engineered capture proteins are thermally stable and yield consistent and easy-to-interpret detection of disease targets. The captured proteins are incorporated into user-friendly, field-use diagnostic tests.
